Do you enjoy the unplugged sound of violin and cello? How about a varied and fast-paced performance that includes many genres of classical string music within one hour? Then an SSA Chamber Players concert is right for you! We are a group of professional performers who also teach at the SSA Summer Music Camp, which is the only residential camp in the U.P. exclusively for string students. Some of us are originally from the U.P.; some of us are not Yoopers but we have taught and performed so much in the U.P. that we consider it a second home. We perform concerts throughout the Upper Peninsula of Michigan to spread our love of string chamber music and raise funds for our campers through the SSA Camper Scholarship Fund. Founded in 1984, the Superior String Alliance is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that supports the art of learning and performing music on the violin, viola, cello, and bass throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula.
